Benefits of Testing

In a recent study published in the journal Science[1], researchers found that taking a test is not just a passive mechanism for assessing how much people know. The process of taking a test actually helps people learn, and it works better than a number of other studying techniques. In fact, there are even benefits to learning when students give the wrong answers. The Purdue study supports the findings of other recent research showing the learning benefits from testing.

The NuScholar Exam feature is designed with this study in mind. Our training materials are loaded with example problems and interactive exercises. Unique exams are specifically tailored to the nuclear fundamentals covered by each chapter of material, and a comprehensive final exam is available at the end of each unit. Exam grades and missed questions are recorded to aid the student in further study. The student has an opportunity to review the lesson material as often as necessary and take another exam, if desired.

Standardized progress reports and exam records provide a convenient way for the supervisor to monitor the progress of each student. The Progress Report contains a record of the amount of time spent on each chapter, the chapter exam grades, and the overall grade for the course. Exam records and progress reports can be viewed or printed at any time.

With NuScholar products, students benefit from flexible training schedules, self-paced learning, and expanded learning time; supervisors benefit from the effective monitoring of student performance.
